The west coast is shaped by the sea, and Bohuslän is well known for its seafood and fishing traditions — lobster fishing among them. Book one of our lobster packages. The waters of the archipelago offer something for both experienced anglers and curious beginners. Head out by boat onto the salt waters of the Skagerrak with a local partner and combine your stay at Lådfabriken with an experience on the sea. All activities and tours are weather-dependent, as conditions along the coast can change quickly.
A world-class experience
Come stay with us during lobster season, beginning each year on the first Monday after September 20. These are special weeks along the coast — quieter days and the chance to experience Bohuslän at its most genuine.
Head out to sea with a local skipper and take part in the lobster fishing yourself. Wearing traditional fishing gear, you’ll help lift the traps, sort the catch, and learn more about the ‘black gold’ of the sea and life in the archipelago. The tours last around 3 to 3.5 hours and run daily from September 24 through November 30.
Back at Lådfabriken, the experience continues at the table. Throughout the season, Marcel prepares a five-course lobster supper inspired by the waters just outside our door. To catch your own lobster and enjoy it later that evening is a simple pleasure — and one of the finest ways to experience the west coast.
For those who would like the full experience, we offer a package combining lobster fishing, dinner and an overnight stay. And if fishing is not quite your thing, there is also a quieter package with a stay at Lådfabriken and just the lobster supper.
Real oyster fishing
Join Lotta from Klemming’s Oysters for a day among the oyster banks of Grebbestad and the Fjällbacka archipelago, where she harvests wild oysters by hand — the only permitted way to gather them in Sweden.
What begins as a day at sea slowly turns into something else: a close encounter with the coast, its rhythms and its quiet traditions. Together with Lotta, you wade into the shallow waters, search for oysters through water binoculars and learn about the life beneath the surface from someone who knows these waters by heart. Over an open fire by the shore, she prepares a simple seafood lunch, served with oysters freshly caught from the sea around you. Available from September through June.

Seal safari
Seal safari with Anders Båt, this trip takes you to the harbor seal’s home waters. The trip takes about 1 hour passes Käringön, Måseskär and Flateskär where the seals live. There the oa will stop, the seals raise their eyebrows, purr and curiously come out and wonder who is on board today. In the waters around Käringön, the harbor seals have their favorite rocks. There they lie and laze on an islet or dive for herring and pike around the seals where it is not so deep. But harbor seals have been seen diving down to a depth of 800 meters.
